poem no. 3

Inside me and you, all of us,
There is an intelligence.
There’s two, actually.
One, is up here,
Aware, spontaneous, open.
Underneath, shrouded,
There is another.

She has more!
Accuses the lizard brain
Dig! Dig! Gather endlessly
A sage rodent insists
We share our bounty
Humbly, the spirit of a herd

I'll bite your head off!
Such strange competitors

Your path is bound to mine
Burden or pleasure, who's to say
Oh, if only I were shrunk to naught
Safer sometimes, to be unseen

This intelligence is not wrong
Bad
Or primitive

This intelligence
Is wise as time

Listen though, the power of aware-intelligence
Is “ no, I will not“
